March 15, 2015 Saturday Projects

Water Softener Removal
Existing Water softener has been leaking. Not sure what is wrong with it but we wanted to eliminate any issues so we just removed it.
Cut out the old.
Used pex to re-route lines
White sleeves for pex side on shark bite.
Ready to push on.
Good as new!
Added brace for support.

New Outside Hose Bib
When we moved in this pipe was never connected.
Not sure what most plumbers use but a grinder made easy work of the pipe.
Pulled pipe back inside.
New one installed on outside. I had to enlarge the hole to 1-1/4" as well as pre drill 2 holes for the screws.
Here is the inside side of the new hose bib.
Pex pipe
Crimp ring
Threaded adapter that came with hose bib.
Crimp tool
Installed.
Water supply that I installed when re-plumbing our toiled with pex.
Connected.
Completed.

Water Softener Disposal
Drilled 2 holes to drain water.
Little slimy beads came out.
Both these containers were very heavy. Several hundred pounds was not fun to heave up the stairs but my Wife helped a lot.
